In honor of Father's Day and one father in particular..

We are super lucky to have my dad, a phenomenal woodworker (with decades of boat projects under his belt) helping us prepare Baila.  The boat is at my folks' house, so my dad constantly checks on things, helps out with the myriad projects and also lends his woodworking expertise and countess hours of his time.   So many hours spent patiently helping me while I am atop the mast doing various projects, in the depths of the bilge running hoses and wires etc, always there to lend a hand and quick with sage advice.  Most impressive are the woodworking jobs he has done that vastly improve Baila both functionally and aesthetically.  I particularly love when he emails me "do you mind if I finish up that storage cabinet before you're back down?"  Do I mind?

In the spirit of this Father's Day I want to showcase a few of his additions that are now forever-appreciated additions to Baila!

This used to be wasted empty space.   Instead it's now a great opening tool-chest to store many of the gazillion tools we're bringing.

This is the back of the girls' small cabin.  We cut a hole to be able to reach through and access the watermaker.  Dad made these awesome double doors- much nicer than the plywood that I had covering it!

Here's a cover and chase to handle some wires that stick through the bulkhead from some added instruments.

Out of self respect I'll leave the backstory out- but basically I messed up the beautiful slatted door here in the galley.  Dad completely redid the top of the door, refinished and made it look extra cool with the darker border.

DAD-- THANK YOU AND HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
